The top 10 cities travelers want to visit in 2018

Travel site Expedia released its year-end look at travel trends Wednesday, combing through its vast trove of data to find the destinations that Americans most want to visit.

According to the travel booking site, which based its findings on data from millions of searches over the last year, 10 destinations in the US and across the world stood out as the most searched-for destinations.

From classic vacation spots like New York City to hot locations like Bangkok, Thailand, here are the top five places in the US and top five places across the world that Americans are looking to visit in 2018.
